USS SIGSBEE     

 EARLY REUNIONS

This is a Memorial Tribute to USS Sigsbee DD-502 Veteran Robert E. Greenhoe and his wife Irene M. Greenhoe. More than twenty years have passed since Bob and Irene were distinguished hosts of the First USS Sigsbee DD-502 reunion at the Airport Holiday Inn at Indianapolis, IN. In attendance were sixteen veterans of the USS Sigsbee and thirteen wives. This reunion was such a success the second Sigsbee reunion was also held at this Holiday Inn at Indianapolis. The attendance at No. 2 more than doubled to thirty three, Sigsbee veterans,  many wives and other family members. Also in attendance was Sigsbee XO Milton Morgan and wife Gail.

Bob attended at least two later reunions, one accompanied by his son. It is sad to report that Irene passed away December 11, 2002 and Bob passed away February 1, 2005. They will both be remembered as gracious hosts of our first USS Sigsbee DD-502 reunion.
