Web Master's Notes; Charles Troxell Snyder enlisted in the U S Navy September17, 1942 at Allentown, Pa, service number 651 33 34. He was received aboard the USS Sigsbee DD-502, March 25, 1943 from Receiving Station, Norfolk, VA as S2c. Charles Troxell Snyder rose to the rank of GM1c. He served with pride and honor aboard the USS Sigsbee, two years, eight months and seven days (983 days). He was transferred, December 1, 1945 to Receiving Station Charleston, SC for further transfer to Separation Center Bainbridge, MD, for discharge. Charles Snyder was one of the most popular gunners mates in the ordnance division and admired by all who knew him. Rest in peace my friend. (Charley Snyder photos furnished by John Mastin.)
